Hearo Is Not a Medical Device or Diagnostic Tool

Hearo is a wellness and informational tool designed to help users understand their hearing patterns and preferences through our “HearingType” personality classification system. Hearo does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is NOT a substitute for professional audiological evaluation or medical consultation.

Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional for any questions regarding a medical condition, diagnosis, or treatment. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of information provided through Hearo.

General Wellness Purpose

Hearo is intended for general wellness and educational purposes only. Our HearingType system is a personality classification framework (similar in concept to Myers-Briggs personality types) applied to hearing patterns. It is designed to help you:

  • Better understand your hearing experiences and patterns
  • Communicate about your hearing with family, friends, and healthcare providers
  • Explore strategies that others with similar hearing profiles have found helpful
  • Learn about hearing health in an accessible and engaging way

Hearo is not intended to diagnose, cure, mitigate, treat, or prevent any disease, disorder, or condition, including hearing loss.

Use of Clinical Terminology

While Hearo utilizes clinical hearing terminology (such as dB HL thresholds, Pure Tone Average calculations, and severity classifications like Mild, Moderate, Moderately Severe, Severe, and Profound), this terminology is used for descriptive and educational purposes only to help users understand their hearing profiles in a standardized context.

The use of this terminology does not imply a medical diagnosis or clinical assessment by Hearo. Only a licensed audiologist or healthcare professional can provide a clinical interpretation of audiometric data.

AI-Powered Audiogram Analysis

Hearo’s AI-powered audiogram image upload feature uses Google Gemini to process and interpret visual data from user-uploaded audiogram images. Important limitations:

  • This analysis is for informational purposes only, solely to help determine a HearingType classification.
  • It is NOT a diagnostic interpretation of your audiogram and should not be treated as such.
  • The accuracy of the AI analysis may vary depending on the quality, format, and clarity of the uploaded image.
  • AI-generated outputs do not constitute medical diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or clinical advice.
  • The AI analysis should not be used as a substitute for a professional audiologist’s review and interpretation of your audiogram.
  • Users are solely responsible for verifying any information derived from the AI analysis with a qualified healthcare professional.

References to Audiologists and Hearing Aids

References to audiologists, hearing aids, and hearing loss within Hearo are for general informational and educational purposes. They are intended to guide users on potential next steps for professional evaluation and support, and do not constitute:

  • A recommendation or endorsement of any specific medical professional, clinic, or treatment facility
  • A prescription for or endorsement of any specific hearing aid brand, model, or type
  • Medical advice regarding the necessity, timing, or type of hearing intervention
  • A clinical recommendation for any specific course of treatment or action
